Fork Lake sits in the Highlands, tucked beside Mount Work Regional Park. It is small, about 4 hectares with roughly a 1 km shoreline, and drains a modest 2 km² watershed into Fizzle Lake and Craigflower Creek on its way to Portage Inlet. Nineteen lakeside homes, most on septic, share the shore, with the northwest bank buffered by parkland. For decades, residents have embraced a quiet, stewardship minded way of life: no motors on the water, care for the shoreline, and a shared commitment to keeping the lake clean, swimmable, supportive of healthy aquatic and wildlife habitats, and protected as a drinking water source for the many homes that rely on it.
